Sawgrass Leak Detection Builds on Experience with Hands-On Pool Leak Detection Training

Experience matters in leak detection. So does the willingness to keep learning.
At Sawgrass Leak Detection, our background includes decades in general contracting and years in the leak detection business. We recently built on that experience through hands-on pool leak detection training with Jeff David of , the training division of Leak and Subsurface Locators.
The training gave us an opportunity to explore new techniques and technology, sharpen our approach, and bring additional knowledge back to the pool owners and homeowners we serve across Northeast Florida.
Learning from Real-World Pool Leak Experience
Jeff brings more than two decades of pool leak detection experience to his instruction. As an active field professional, he teaches from the practical challenges that come with locating leaks—not simply from a classroom manual.
That perspective made the training especially valuable for our team. Working with an experienced instructor offers an opportunity to ask questions, compare approaches, and understand the reasoning behind each step of an investigation.
Leak Business Academy emphasizes a systematic approach to evaluating pool water loss. Its training addresses potential sources of water loss, including environmental factors, pool equipment, plumbing, and the pool structure itself. Understanding how those pieces fit together helps guide a thorough investigation.
Building on What We Already Do
Continuing education adds to the experience we bring to every job. Even after years in the leaks business, there are opportunities to refine a process, learn a different technique, or gain a better understanding of how to apply detection technology.
For our team, this training was about building on an existing foundation. We came away with additional techniques and perspectives to incorporate into our pool leak detection work.
The biggest takeaway was simple: staying coachable keeps you growing. Experience gives you a strong starting point, but being willing to listen, ask questions, and practice helps you continue improving.
What This Means for Northeast Florida Pool Owners
When a pool is losing water, homeowners want clear answers. Finding the source begins with a careful evaluation and a methodical approach to narrowing down the possibilities.
Our investment in additional training reflects our commitment to that work. We want to keep developing the skills and knowledge that help us evaluate water loss and explain our findings to customers.
Whether we are drawing on our contracting background, our leak detection experience, or techniques learned through continuing education, the goal remains the same: help homeowners understand where water is being lost and what needs attention.
Thank You to Jeff and Sandra
